Product Description:

Barium chromate, named barium tetraoxochromate(VI) by the IUPAC, is a yellow sand like powder with the formula BaCrO₄. It is a known oxidizing agent and produces a green flame when heated, a result of the barium ions.

Product Application:

A banana-color yellow pigment that is also called barium yellow. Barium chromate is precipitated from a Barium chloride solution by the addition of Potassium dichromate. Barium yellow is a fairly permanent pigment but it may turn green slowly in light.

Product Dose:

It can be synthesized by reacting barium hydroxide or barium chloride with potassium chromate. Alternatively, it can be created by the interaction of barium chloride with sodium chromate. ... 2 BaCrO4 + 2 H+ → 2 Ba2+ + Cr2O72− + H2O. Ksp = [Ba2+][CrO42−] = 2.1 × 10.

Barium carbonate is soluble in acid, including dilute acetic acid, in strong bases, and in aqueous ammonia.
