Tetrabutylammonium hydrogensulfate may be employed as a catalyst for the green synthesis of glycosyl 1,4-dihydropyridines. Tetrabutylammonium hydrogensulfate can serve as ion-pairing agent in the determination of the following using gas chromatography(GC) method : linear alkylbenzenesulfonates(LASs) acidic herbicides.

Tetrabutylammonium hydrogensulfate is an ammonium salt. It serves as solvent for the dissolution of ruthenium(II) complex fac-[Ru(CO)2(H2O)3(C(O)C2H5)][CF3SO3]. It participates as a cocatalyst in the reaction medium for the preparation of alternating polyketones and propionic acid.

A simple, efficient and convenient method for the synthesis of 2,4,6-triarylpyridines by a one-pot reaction of aromatic aldehydes, acetophenones and ammonium acetate under solvent free media at 80°C in the presence of 30 mol% of tetrabutylammonium hydrogen sulphate (TBAHS) is described.
