Sodium Trimetaphosphate (STMP)  is a Sodium Phosphate salt (NaPO3)3, supplier and exporter. Sodium Trimetaphosphate, Anhydrous (STMP) Powder is a clean, white powder. Sodium Trimetaphosphate. Applications include food processing, starch modification, pharmaceuticals, and potable water treatment.

Product Application:

Sodium Trimetaphosphate (STMP)  is a Sodium Phosphate salt (NaPO3)3, that when added to gypsum can help to optimize the setting time while enhancing the structural integrity of the wallboard.  STMP is an important additive in the production of high throughput and high quality wallboard for use by businesses and individuals in the construction and home remodeling industry.

Product Dose:

sodium trimetaphosphate (“STMP”) can be utilized in the wallboard manufacturing process to increase the quality of wallboard. But note STMP is ineffective in high pH level environments (i.e., greater than 10). In all other environments, STMP can be used to increase the core quality of wallboard and allow manufacturers to reduce the amount of natural polymer (i.e., starch) used to produce wallboard of suitable quality. 

Product Note:

STMP is a combination of earth metals and is known by the chemical equation (NaPO3)3. In its solid form it is a salt, but when dissolved in an aqueous solution, it is present as a trimetaphosphate ion.

Remarks:

Sodium Trimetaphosphate occurs as white crystals or as a white, crystalline powder. It is a cyclic polyphosphate composed of three metaphosphate units. It is freely soluble in water. The pH of a 1:100 aqueous solution is about 6.0.

  2. Used in the food industry as a starch modifier, juice turbidity preventer, meat binder, dispersant and stabilizer (for ice cream, cheese, etc.). It can prevent food from discoloring and prevent decomposition of vitamin C.
  3. It can be added to gypsum board and used to produce low-density washing powder, and can also be used to produce dry bleach and automatic dishwashing detergent.
