Lactated Ringer's solution (LR) is used in the resuscitation of septic patients and contains 28 mmol/L of sodium lactate. ... Results: After 30 mL/kg of intravenous LR, the mean serum lactate level increased by 0.93 mmol/L (95% confidence interval 0.42-1.44 mmol/L).

Lactic acid is low molecular weight organic acid which produced mainly by fermentation using lactic acid bacteria or synthetically. For many years this acid is used in many food and chemical industries with wide range of applications

Product Dose:

 

LACTIC ACID LR contains 28 mmol/L of sodium lactate and, on the surface, it seems reasonable to think that infusion of LR would lead to lactate .

Product Note:

 

Serum lactate increases in states of severe sepsis and reduces the drop in serum bicarbonate  and may protect from acidosis.
