Carbon tetrachloride, also known by many other names is 
an organic compound with the chemical formula CCl4.
used in the production of refrigeration fluid and propellants for aerosol cans, as a pesticide
Product Application:

Because it has no C–H bonds, carbon tetrachloride does not easily undergo free-radical reactions. It is a useful solvent for halogenations either by the elemental halogen or by a halogenation reagent such as N-bromosuccinimide

2.2 Carbon Tetrachloride (Tetrachloromethane) Carbon tetrachloride is commonly used as a chemical intermediate, solvent, and dry-cleaning fluid. Human exposure to carbon tetrachloride from occupational or environmental sources is low and unlikely to produce acute kidney toxicity.

Carbon tetrachloride (CCl4) is a liquid at room temperature and pressure, whereas ammonia (NH3) is a gas.
