Remarks:

2,4,6- Tris-(2’ - Pyridyl )-s-Triazine ( TPTZ ) or  also can be use like 2,4,6-Tripyridyl-s-triazine. Solution of (TPTZ), .001 M were prepared by dissolving 0.312 gram of compound in a view drops of hydrochloric acid and diluting to 1 ltr with water.

 
2,4,6-Tripyridyl-s-triazine solution of (TPTZ) is useful for the calorimetric determination of iron. The Intense violet colour formed by TPTZ with iron(II) is due to the ion {Fe(TPTZ)2}+2, with only two of the three pyridyl group of each TPTZ ligand attached to the Iron atom.
 
This reagent is  also used for determination of iron in silicates, burnt refractories, and limestone etc

And potassium permagnate is one of popular option to control iron bacteria growth in wells.  After treatment with Potassium permagnate,  The solid pricipitate particles are then filtered with a multimedia filter.

Procedure:

20 mL of sample was collect in a sterilized bottle.
A Bacteriological strip was insert with forceps into the bottle, below the water level

Close the bottle with cap properly and place the bottle inside a beaker with water at a temperature of 20-25o C (ambient temperature). Incubate the bottle for 36-43 hours.

Observing the colour of the sample inside the bottle.
Result: A black colour of the sample indicates the presence of coliform bacteria in the sample.

Severe exposures of the eyes to the vapors causes temporary blindness lasting for about 24 hours. Recurrent exposure to hydrazine hydrate has been reported to cause contact dermatitis of the hands without systemic intoxication. In humans, hydrazine is absorbed through the skin, by inhalation, and orally; systemic effects include weight loss, weakness, vomiting, excited behavior, and convulsions; the chief histologic findings are fatty degeneration of the liver and nephritis.
