Remarks:

More resistant chromium-nickel grades can be passivated in a 20 percent-by-volume nitric acid bath . As indicated in the same table, less resistant stainless grades can be passivated by adding sodium dichromate to the nitric acid bath to make the solution more oxidizing and capable of forming a passive film on the surface.

Another option, used in place of nitric acid plus sodium dichromate, is to increase the concentration of nitric acid to 50 percent-by-volume , The sodium dichromate addition and lit : higher nitric acid concentration both reduce the chance of undesirable flash attack.

Contaminants found on separator discs mostly consist of hardness salts (calcium carbonate etc.) and partly carbonized oil. The combination of dissolving agents, acids and surface active agents makes it possible to clean the separator discs quickly without brushing.

How to Use Disc Separator Cleaner (RXSOL-16-1007-025)

  1. Prepare the Cleaning Solution:

    • Dilute the Disc Separator Cleaner with water.

    • Typical dilution ratio: 1 part cleaner to 3–5 parts water, depending on the level of contamination.

  2. Soak the Discs:

    • Place the stainless steel discs or separator parts into a suitable soaking tank.

    • Pour the prepared solution until the parts are fully submerged.

  3. Soaking Time:

    • Allow the parts to soak for 2 to 4 hours.

    • For heavily carbonized or greasy components, longer soaking may be needed (overnight if necessary).

  4. Light Agitation (if possible):

    • Occasionally stir the solution or gently agitate the parts to speed up the cleaning process.

  5. Rinsing:

    • After soaking, remove the parts and rinse thoroughly with fresh water.

    • Make sure all chemical residues are completely removed.

  6. Drying:

    • Allow the parts to air dry or wipe them with a clean, dry cloth before reassembling.

  7. Safety Tips:

    • Always wear gloves, goggles, and suitable protective clothing.

    • Ensure good ventilation during use.

    • Dispose of used solution according to local regulations.
